Welcome to Genetics 2.0 from Cogito Learning Media! This program covers all the major topics in your course, with hundreds of interactive screens and self-test questions with hints and feedback.
To run this program you will need the following third party software:
1. An Internet browser (Netscape or Internet Explorer), version 4.0 or higher.
2. An Apple QuickTime 4.0 plug-in for that browser
3. A Macromedia Shockwave 8 or higher plug-in for that browser.
If you have all three software applications installed on your computer, you are ready to get started. You can refer to the Getting Started section for instructions. If not, please refer to the Software Installation Instructions below.
Software Installation Instructions:
Windows 95/98/NT
1. Insert the Genetics 2.0 CD into the CD-ROM drive.
2. If "autorun" is enabled on your PC, an Installation Menu will appear automatically. If "autorun" is not enabled, go to Start and then go to Run. Type in D:\Setup.exe. NOTE: If your CD-ROM drive is not D, you will have to type in the letter of your CD-ROM drive instead of D (for instance, F:\Setup.exe).
3. From the Installation Menu, select Software Installation Files.
4. From within the Installers folder, select the software that you need to install, and follow the on-screen instructions. If you need a browser, Internet Explorer is preferred for this program, but Netscape will work.
Macintosh
1. Insert the Genetics 2.0 CD into the CD-ROM drive. When the CD-ROM icon labeled Genetics 2.0 appears on the desktop, double-click on it.
2. From within the Installers folder, select the software that you need to install, and follow the on-screen instructions. If you need a browser, both Netscape and Internet Explorer are recommended choices.
Getting Started
With all of the appropriate third party software installed on your computer, you are now ready to begin the Genetics 2.0 program.
Windows 95/98/NT
1. Insert the Genetics 2.0 CD into the CD-ROM drive.

2. Double-click on the start_genetics.html icon, or drag this icon on top of your desired browser shortcut located on your desktop.
